Day 5

30 Day Lolita Challenge

Day 5 : 10 items from your wishlist

It has been so long since I reflected on my EGL wishlist! To be honest I don't have a lot left, since starting to officially build my wardrobe in 2012 I have had quite a bit of time to track down my wishlist items (and then some omg!)- I am pretty content with my current wardrobe as it is too and generally don't buy much anymore unless it is something I really love (although admittedly there still is an arrangement of boleros, cutsews, blouses, skirts, bags, and jewelry pieces that I am passively looking for!); but for the sake of this challenge I will try! So in no particular order, here are some of the things on my Wishlist.

This Promenade de Paris artwork always reminds me of a lovely day walking around and shopping!

This coat has been my favorite ever since I first started the fashion, in fact I remember when it was released! Back then I was a student with a part time job so I could never afford it, but a part of me still wouldn't mind buying it one day if it is ever possible. I am a bit more partial to the White colorway now but honestly I would buy it in ay of the three colors! The waffled lamé is my favorite aspect, I love waffle textures so much and everything from the buttons to the caplet just brings me so much joy. Thankfully I have a few coats I adore now that are similar but I could definitely make room in my wardrobe for this if the opportunity ever happens!

Oh how I need this bag haha. I passed on it a few times but one day I will finally go for it. It is so cute, in fact I love the entire line. (There is also a pink Usakumya and a Kumakumya version too!) I always loved window bags and the idea of filling it with multiple tiny Usakumyas is just too fun to pass up! Not much else to say about this, it is a 10/10 item and hopefully one day I can add it to my Kumya-themed hoard.

When this dress came out I was so torn, I really loved it but I was pretty much at capacity in my wardrobe and also, I didn't know what colorway I liked best which basically had me excusing myself from the release completely due to my indecisiveness. (This also happened with the Melty Ribbon Chocolate release, which thankfully had a surprisingly happy conclusion where I got it in bitter BUT I should have known better by now!) My other excuse was I "already had a holiday print" at the time. Years later I decided no that's silly, I am 100% allowed to have more than one seasonal print and if I wanted more holiday themes I absolutely could! But of course, this dress is now a bit tricky to find in this cut and colorway because I waited so long. But it's okay, I don't mind keeping an eye out and if one day it works out, so be it! I actually really love night markets and the art on this dress is so very precious, I feel that way about all of BABY's Usakumya holiday prints but this one is especially adorable, I cannot get over how they are holding hands!

To no one's surprise, another Kumya related item. (What can I say, it's my favorite theme!) But this... is a grave need. BABY always does these incredible anniversary Headquarters Exclusive releases (that are often lotteries, ahh!!) for the cutest things ever. And this time was no exception. Back in 2023 they dropped this Usakumya Rucksack sized outfit set that I still cannot get over to this day. I was lucky enough to do a MTO with BABY USA for my first ever rucksack sized Kumya but she of course has nothing to wear except for my own headpieces I share. So when this set dropped, oh my gosh it took me out. But of course, it was in store only, lottery based, and they didn't even ship- you had to enter and pick it up in person. Naturally, it became instantly rare and never popped up often except for a small fortune. They actually did a second release in 2024 that I think wasn't lottery based but otherwise it was tragically just as exclusive. So of course this became a pipe dream as soon as I saw the news for it, but gosh I long for it in white or pink one day, it is the cutest rucksack sized outfit set I have ever seen!!

Cookies (and candy!) are one of my favorite jewelry themes and I particularly like BABY's sweeter cookie designs, they are always so cute with how they get that perfect smooth and delicate icing look. So this line is one i am still keeping an eye out for, it is so cute and goes with so much of my wardrobe. Not much else to say about this one, I just love everything about it! It doesn't pop up for sale often but I'm ever at the right place at the right time I wouldn't hesitate to get it. (I also would love a ring too!)

Funnily enough I don't have a single muffler designed by an EGL brand, which is funny as it does run quite cold where I live in autumn and winter. (I do have earmuffs though!) Honestly I would be happy with either this bow style or a bunny style, it looks just so cute to bundle up in! I do have scarves I can wear in the cold weather that suit EGL fashion but one day it would be nice to get one like this.

I feel a little silly including this set but technically it has been on my wishlist for decades! It is impossible to get though as it was a runway sample set only for a Laforet fashion show back in 2005. But look at how absolutely adorable it is! I adore everything about it, the cherries all over the bolero and jsk, the colors, the gingham... perfection! I have accepted that this will always be a set I can only admire but I wanted to share it anyway because it is just too cute.

Honestly, these shoes will haunt me until the end of time. I LOVE Melissa shoes and wear them normally and when these were released, I had just moved and started my new job so I had absolutely no extra funds for lavash purchases and had to pass on them. And gosh how I regret that!! If they ever release them again I am springing for them (probably in more than one color) because they are just so perfect. Melissa shoes are some of the comfiest I have ever worn plus the material doesn't tear easily and they come in an array of sizes. I'm forever praying that one day they will make them again, maybe a petition should be organized to send to Melissa for a re-release hehe!

So this is one of my only 'holy grail' items I am actively looking for, the BIG Usakumya! She is a whopping 70cm high, an entire head taller than the regular Usakumya rucksack! Similar to some of my other dream items, when she was available for reservation I was not able to spend so much on a lavish purchase (not to mention, what would the shipping cost to overseas even be...) and every time she has popped up second hand she sold out before I even saw the listing. Other than a second pink release in 2019 I don't think she released again? But if she ever is released for another reservation I am 100% going to try my best to bring one home!

One last absolute pipe dream, Rose Ribbon Embroidery in white!! An absolutely iconic dress thanks to Shimotsuma Monogatari and definitely one of the main reasons for my fondness for embroidery. I imagine this dress is beloved by many, and understandably so! The only hope I'd ever have to find (and be able to afford, considering the second hand market value) this dress is if BABY ever does a re-release, so I will keep crossing my fingers that one day it may be!

That is all for now, thank you for reading!
