Summer is in full swing where I live and we have already gotten a few heatwaves in May and June. I sadly don't do super well in the heat (it's one reason why I moved north!) and if it's hot and humid I wilt super easily, much like a vegetable left out in the sun...
(Which has become more common in my area as the years go by too, ahh!)

During the summer I generally wear cooling things like breezy dresses and skirts, along with as much cotton or linen as possible. But while I was trying to decide what to wear for Summer ILD I realized there are a few EGL dresses I have that I actually enjoy (and even look forward to) wearing in the summer, as crazy as that is to say! So, while I sit here on an especially hot and muggy afternoon with my iced coffee and practically clinging to my fan, I figured I'd ramble a bit about what I like to do for the summer.

These are four of my favorite BABY dresses to wear because the fabric is so wonderfully comfortable and breathable! I have a Kumya's Fluffy OP in white, Hawase Doll OP in pink, Snow Dot Skirt in pink (there is also a super cute matching Blouse), and Dessert OPs in yellow, lavender, and black! Each one is made of cotton and with cotton lining and overall they are very light, not heavy at all. I typically wear uniqlo airism or cotton undershirts which helps with regulating temperature too. They are also very easy to wash and air dry which is nice to take advantage of in the warm weather!

What's also nice is all of them can be coordinated in cute and simple ways! I can wear a breathable cotton blouse with Snow Dot and an assortment of socks with the OPs, plus a parasol always looks so cute with this style too! A few other dresses I love to wear are the Karami 3 Tier JSK which I have in pink and one of my other favorites, Babydoll JSK & Usakumya Headdress Set if I am am craving to go all out with my favorite theme, an overload of Usakumyas. (Although all of BABY's Babydoll JSKs are the same comfortability in my opinion!) They do have poly linings though, so they are a bit better for not insanely hot days.

Another set I really love is Angelic Pretty's Fairy Frill JSK with Bolero which is so fun and comfy, also completely cotton! I particularly love the bodice, the back is so delicate featuring mainly the corset lacing and not much else which is really unique to me. It looks so cute either with a light cutsew or the matching bolero, plus it suits other bolero's being swapped in as well. And since it has such an open bodice it is also extra comfortable which is great for warm days that need less clingy fits.

Thankfully Angelic Pretty still makes some all cotton OPs that are nice and airy for summer, one of my other favorites being the Daisy Doll OP which I have in sax, but funnily enough I also find some of their chiffon dresses super comfortable as well such as my Cosmic JSK in pink and Petit Patisserie Tiered JSK in pink, which is nice if I want to wear a print~ I also find my Margaret Doll OP in mint to be oddly comfortable as well!

Welp, I think that is all for now~ Other than lots of water, fruit, ice cream, and being glued to the fan there isn't much else I do that feels relevant! While going out to local parks, lakes, and beaches is really fun, on the days I staying home I do enjoy watching some of my favorite retro anime series in particular~ for some reason the bright colors and citypop/synthwave music most of them have really remind me of summer hehe!

Hopefully I won't melt too much!
